The aim of MKA organizing the OTW 1-20 WORLD Online Championships is to improve the athlete’s level of Karate and other martial arts such as Wushu Kung Fu, Taijiquan and several others. MKAs professional Refereeing panel knows, from past and present experiences that, the worst feeling of an athlete in every competition, is that of either not giving his/her best performance or that of not being given the points that he/she deserves, missing the chance of being one of the winners.
MKA understands the fact that not everyone is an expert in taking videos and would like to reassure all athletes and parents that a professional video does not mean that the performance of the athlete will be awarded highest points. Similarly, a nice background environment of where the kata/ Form is performed, will not influence the points awarded to the athlete.
MKA knows that every athlete and parent who is not new to competitions, understands that judging kata/ Form through videos is also difficult, uncomfortable, visually tiring, and mentally exhausting. What makes it more difficult is that, the videos that will be sent, obviously provide only ONE view – that of the central Referee. The rule is as such because otherwise Referees will never finish their job. It is understandable that this one view may be an advantage or disadvantage to the athlete, depending on the level of difficulty of the kata/ Form and the athlete’s skill.
